DESCRIPTION:Bring your flashlight or headlamp and join us for orienteering in the dark at Knox Farm State Park just outside East Aurora \nEvent Format:  This event is designed for people who have already had some orienteering experience or those who feel very confident using a topographic map and hiking in the dark. You can participate as an individual or with a group of your friends or family. Two courses will be available: a Long Course of 4 kilometers and a Medium Course of 3 kilometers. Both courses will have fairly easy control locations. There will be a mass start. Livelox will be available and SIAC will be enabled. \nLocation: Knox Farm State Park is located at 437 Buffalo Rd\, East Aurora\, NY 14052. Check-in is located in the “Milk House” at the event site (42.776808\, -78.641344). \nTime: Check-in takes place from 5:00 to 5:45 PM. The mass start takes place at 6:00 PM. The time limit is 90 minutes. \nCost: The event fee is $5 for members of any orienteering club or $10 for non-members. Juniors 20 and under who are part of a BFLO family membership participate for free; otherwise it’s $5. Children 11 and under participate for free but must be registered by a parent. Interested in becoming a member?  You can do so on our membership page. \nRegistration: Pre-registration is strongly encouraged and will guarantee a map for you. The pre-registration deadline is 11:00 p.m. Thursday\, November 6. Note: Each member of a group must register and sign the waiver. This low-key event will feature a handicap format that has all participants starting at the same time and hopefully finishing at the same time as well. (Faster orienteers will run a longer course.) The cost to participate is $10 per person ($5 for members) and $5 for Juniors. The map scale is 1:5\,000 with a contour interval of 2.5 meters. \nCheck-in at the event site is from 5:15 to 5:45 PM. DESCRIPTION:A Night O in Cazenovia Park \nRegistration for the event is from 5:15 pm to 5:45 pm with a mass start at 6:00 PM. \nRegistration and start is located at the “Shelter House” in Cazenovia Park. (42.848561 -78806425) (120 Cazenovia Street) Need directions?  Check out the Google Maps Link. \nParticipants will be divided into 5 groups\, labeled 0\, 1\, 2\, 3\, or 4\, depending on their navigational and physical abilities. Group “0” will run an easy 2.6 km course. Groups 1-4 will run the same course but first will have to visit a series of score-O controls. The number of score-O controls they have to visit will correspond to their group number. They can visit the score-O controls in any order. \nYou will need to bring a flashlight or headlamp. \nThe nearest bathroom is a porta-potty 350 meters away so plan accordingly. \nMap scale is 1:5\,000 and in 5 colors.  $10 fee ($5 members) includes 5-color park map and event entry.
